Privacy Policy
How Data Moose collects, uses and protects information when you use our storage, CDN, domain and account services.
Last updated: September 2026
Overview
This policy explains what information Data Moose collects when you use our website, dashboard, storage, CDN and domain services, and how that information is used, stored and protected. Data Moose Inc. is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and handles personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, billing details and support requests. We also collect usage information generated by your account, including storage and bandwidth consumption, API and dashboard activity, and basic device and browser information used to keep the service secure.
How we use information
- To operate and maintain your storage, CDN and domain services
- To bill accurately for usage and process payments
- To respond to support requests and account inquiries
- To detect abuse, fraud and security issues
- To send service updates and, where you've opted in, product news
Data storage and security
Files you store with Data Moose are replicated across separate servers and, where selected, across regions. Account and billing information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to customer data is limited to personnel who need it to operate or support the service.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technology to keep you signed in, remember dashboard preferences, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website, such as which pages are viewed and how people arrive. It collects usage information through cookies and similar technology and reports it to us in aggregate. Analytics only runs if you click Accept on our cookie banner; if you decline, nothing is collected. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer, or clear it through your browser settings.
Forms and spam protection
Information you submit through our contact and application forms is emailed to our team and used only to respond to you. To keep automated spam out, our forms use hidden checks and Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot-verification service that processes technical information about your browser to tell people and bots apart. Form messages are delivered through our Google Workspace account.
Third-party services
We use a small number of third parties, including Google (website analytics, if you accept it, and business email), Cloudflare (form spam protection) and our payment processor. These providers only receive the information needed to perform their function and are not permitted to use it for other purposes.
Where information is processed
Some of the providers above, and some of our storage regions, are located outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. Information handled there may be subject to the laws of those countries, including lawful access by their authorities. We choose providers that protect information to a standard comparable to what we apply ourselves.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your account information from your dashboard at any time, or by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your stored files and account data, subject to any legal retention requirements.
Data retention
We retain account and billing records for as long as your account is active and for a limited period afterward, as required for accounting, legal and fraud-prevention purposes. Stored files are retained until you delete them or your account is closed.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date above.
Contact us
Questions, access requests or concerns about this policy can be sent through our contact page or to support@datamoose.com. If we can't resolve a concern, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
