Why we started Data Moose

We have all been there, where we created an innovative product but online infrastructure held us back from releasing its full potential. That is why we created Data Moose, to help people and companies concentrate on their projects without having to worry about large bills. This helps products flourish and bring new and innovative products to the market.

The problem with cloud bills

Storage is rarely the expensive part on its own. The cost creeps in through everything around it: bandwidth billed at a different rate, charges for getting your own data back out, support sold as an add-on, and pricing tiers that take a spreadsheet to compare. By the time a project is ready to grow, the bill has grown faster.

What we built instead

Data Moose puts storage, automatic backups, a CDN and domain registration under one account, with pricing you can remember. Storage and bandwidth out are both $0.0095 per GB, and data coming in is free. There are no tiers to decode and no minimum commitment.

Every file is automatically replicated, so redundancy is part of the service rather than an upgrade. Support is included on every account, and a real person answers.

Built in Toronto, for projects everywhere

We're a small team based in Toronto, Canada, serving customers worldwide from our storage regions and CDN edge locations. If you're building something and cost has ever been the reason it didn't ship, we'd like to hear from you. And if you're a startup, student, nonprofit or open-source project, take a look at Forward Lab.
